the belt is good but needs instructions
The belt itself is good but there are no instructions anywhere including the owners manual how to change the belt on the 71b. Luckily my husband figured it out, there is a hidden screw under a plastic plug that has to be forcibly removed from the front under side of the 71b, it is not easy, you basically have to destroy the plug very carefully to remove it without destroying the plastic frame. I will not buy this same 71b vac, the vac works good but no belt should be this hard to change.
Keep the Brushes Moving
No problem using the Eureka belt. Easy to install. Easy to use. Seems that this belt will the last belt to buy in the life of the vacuum.
Misleading information
According to Eureka support line, the belt of the 71b is basically impossible to replace. I've tried it. They suggest to take it to a service center.
