There is no equal!
These are the best hand mixers on the market. Breville is somewhat new to American markets and is not well known here in the USA, but without a doubt the word is getting out about their superiority. Being a professional baker, I need a mixer that can cut through heavy cookie batters and bread doughs, especially when I don't want to use the stand mixer. No other model on the market has 16 speed settings and I have used every one of them. This thing is powerful! These mixers may cost a bit more, but they are worth every penny for quality and convenience.
Thought there were problems, but customer service was great.
The LCD display for speed and timing seem stuck on 16 and 01:27 no matter what I did. The booklet said nothing about a display sticker that you must first peel off. D'oh!
The beaters did not self-eject. The booklet seemed to imply that pressing the Eject button would release the beaters and it does but they don't fall out. You must tug.
I had my old beater for 30 years and have had two high-end replacements which I returned for various reasons.
This one I'm keeping.
Sturdy
I purchased this almost a month ago. I have never had good luck with hand mixers so this time I wanted to really purchase a quality product. I own a heavy duty stand mixer and I needed a smaller hand mixer to stand up to the demands of a family of eight. I bought this based on a review left by a professional chef. I used this mixer to make my Thanksgiving meal, mixed enough cookie dough to make 15 dozen cookies as well as several batches of bread dough. I have been thoroughly pleased. The starting speed has never splattered flour or wet ingredients. The speed increments are very slight and steady. The timer is very handy. The beaters/dough hooks are VERY sturdy. At first the ejection button was stiff but after a few uses it ejects without any problem. I do not care however for the cord not having a tie on it to stow it away neatly, but I just use a rubberband. Overall Im very happy with how this mixer performs. I also love how it looks.
