Chef Buddy okay quality
I purchased this pocket sandwich press for Xmas gift 2011. This one is handy to make pocket sandwiches, paninis, and regular waffles due to interchangeable plates. The nonstick interchangeable plate idea gives this waffler versatility and makes it easy to clean. It has two indicator lights on top; red for a power connection and green to show heating cycles. The booklet is easy to read and understand. I haven't used the grill plates, but the waffle plates work well using a little canola oil to keep from sticking and the pocket sandwich plates fit a regular size bread slice easily. It will also accommodate a wider slice if you place it on the plate front to back. When you latch the lid closed with pocket sandwiches, it takes some effort to get it latched, but is secure. I like the design and light weight. Dimensions are 9.5" wide x 9.5" deep x 3.6" high. The not-so-good news is that this item is an import from Asia and has questionable durability. It comes with no warranty. My press...
Cheap
This item caused damage to my electrical in my kitchen. I plugged it in for the first time to make waffles for my family and it sparked at me. I do not recommend buying this item. I found the craftsmenship horrible and cheap. Amazon did make returning this item easy and headache free. Amazon did not do anything wrong; they packed it correctly and there was no damage to the box.
sandwich maker
I really enjoyed the short time I was able to use my Chef Buddy. But only after about ten of use, I went to plug it in and it no longer worked. The lights on the top no longer light up and no heat is produced by the machine. For the close to $50 I spent on the item I think its crazy the item would just break like this.
